
Karina is committed to nurturing the next generation of female filmmakers, especially those offering queer and neurodiverse perspectives within genre films. She’s the lead screenplay judge for niche indie horror festival, Shriekfest, and has been picking winners for them since 2007. She’s considered an expert in the genre and has taught classes at UCLA, written articles for the Smithsonian, Los Angeles Review of Books and LitReactor, and her analysis of horror trends through the decades has been featured in the WSJ, on NPR, in medical textbooks and in documentaries alongside luminaries such as Jason Blum, Joe Dante, and Andy Muschietti. Her great passion, however, will always be horror.

She is currently developing and writing a series of domestic thrillers for British TV. She was the in-house story consultant at IM Global and worked on many of their titles including Skyline, Secret in Their Eyes, 13 Sins, and The Circle. She has helped to shape narratives in every genre, from independent documentaries (The Rape of Recy Taylor, Citizen Ashe) to Netflix animated series. Recently, Juan joined Housefire Management where he continues to advocate for the voices he believes in. In early 2019, Juan submitted his client’s project HICKAM to Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock and Steven Spielberg through CAA for production considerations. In late 2018, Juan found a British horror director Alberto Marina and successfully set up his short film BAGHEAD at StudioCanal with Picture Co producing. As a junior manager, he consistently grow Good Fear’s writers and directors clients roster by scouting talents from all over the globe. After CAA, Juan joined Good Fear Content as a junior manager/producer. He later joined the world’s biggest talent agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in their Motion Pictures department where he worked in representation, with a strong focus on directors and writers. Juan started his career in Universal Pictures Creative Development where he was involved in the development of feature films such as JURASSIC WORLD, MUMMY (2017), NIGHT SCHOOL etc. Raised in Vancouver, Canada, John is a graduate of the Tisch Film and Television program at New York University. He most recently produced INFINITE, directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Mark Wahlberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Dylan O’Brien starring, which was released by Paramount+. He was an executive producer on the feature films ALWAYS WATCHING and PARALLEL and produced ELI, which was released by Netflix. He also reps the writer of the Eisner nominated comic book LITTLE BIRD.

His clients have also written on TV shows such as SHANTARAM, FBI INTERNATIONAL, BOSCH, MR ROBOT, TRAINING DAY, TINY PRETTY THINGS, HAWAII FIVE-O, THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE and HAND OF GOD, amongst others. His client Elyse Hollander wrote BLONDE AMBITION, the number one script on the 2016 Black List, his client Sophie Dawson wrote HEADHUNTER, the number one script on the 2020 Black List, and his client Daniel Jackson wrote CAULIFLOWER, the number one script on the 2021 Black List. John’s clients’ credits include INFINITE, PARALLEL, ELI, BAD MATCH, BETTER WATCH OUT, HEAVY TRIP, OFFICE UPRISING, SPLINTER, A CROOKED SOMEBODY, amongst others. John Zaozirny oversees the feature film production slate for Bellevue and the Literary Management Team. and Disney, in addition to working with producers such as Fast & Furious filmmaker Justin Lin, and former NBA All-Star Baron Davis.

He is currently serving as Vice President of Development for Paramount Television Studios overseeing shows in development at Paramount+, Amazon, and TNT. A versatile creative who has worked in live-action, unscripted and animation, both as a network exec and a producer. Gary is a seasoned executive who has overseen development and production across tv, features and short-form digital content for several companies.
